Are you a grandparent, friend, foster or whānau carer? Our teachers/kaiako will support you and provide ideas to stimulate, encourage and grow the baby and child in your care. We come to you and it is free.

Are all your teachers trained and registered?
They are all trained and registered early childhood teachers - we call them teacher/kaiako. We are very proud of our team's passion and the expertise they bring into the lives of your children, caregivers and families/whānau.

So what exactly does the teacher/kaiako from footsteps do?
The teacher/kaiako provides an early childhood learning and development programme for your baby or child/ren. Each programme is personalised to your baby or child's particular learning needs. They provide support and guidance to your caregiver, so they are able to enhance the learning environment your baby and child is in. Toys and resources are used to stimulate your baby and child's personal development, and importantly make things fun!

Our team is located throughout Aotearoa New Zealand and they will travel to your home to provide our service.

We support foster parents and whānau where the children are linked to Child Youth and Family. We provide educational support and guidance to foster or whānau carers, to give you a programme and tools to enhance a baby or child's learning and development needs.

We work with all cultures. As part of our development focus, we encourage parents/guardians to ensure their children have an appreciation for their own culture, as well as the cultures of others.

Are you looking after your baby or child at home?
At footsteps, we provide an educational service to parents and guardians which gives you a programme and tools to enhance your child's thinking, interaction and development. Under current legislation, government funding is not available, however we can still work with you for the benefit of your child.
